The Great Salt Plains

We went camping at the Great Salt Plains State Park of Oklahoma a couple weeks ago.  Talk about FUN!  It was great!  Besides forgetting a lighter to start the campfire.  And forgetting the bread.  And the mustard and cheese.  And getting there after dark.  Have you ever tried to put up a tent in the dark?  Don't.  It's not easy or fun!  But, we did it and had the BEST time!  We had so much fun we even stayed an extra night.

Here is a picture of the salt plains.  Beautiful.  Looked like we were surrounded by snow!

Our family (even the dogs!):

Can't go camping without s'mores!

A girl after my own heart.

They really DO love each other!

My cool 10 year old!

DIGGING!!!  Dustin ended up finding the best spot for finding crystals. We came back with a TON!

One of our crystals:

"The Prospector" aka Dylan:

"Nacho Cheese" aka Jodee

Love love love this picture!!  They were having SO much fun!

Being silly with Miley:

Dylan's fire dance:

We definitely recommend this state park to anyone looking for a great camping experience!  I didn't even touch on the hiking we did, or the lake we camped next to.   Make sure to take sunglasses--it was SO bright with the white ground!

Josh, you are taking some great pictures. I like all of them, but the one on on the tailgate might be my fav.

Thanks Gena, but Heather actually took the one on the tailgate I was driving...
