The Nadia Comaneci Invitational

This past weekend was SO much fun! (Oh, and tiring!) The Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy has a "Nadia" meet every year, but it's usually small, and held at their gym. This year, they went all out! They held it at the Cox Communications building in downtown OKC, and it was a 3 day event. Yes, I judged 3 days in a row! It made for a great paycheck...and lots of gymnastics.

Saturday night, they had an international elite meet. There were girls there from Romania, Ukraine, Israel, Mexico, and Russia. The floor gold medal winner from the olympics competed too! I was able to get Jodee and myself in, and we had a great time! She got a little tired of it after a few hours...and wondered why they were all doing the same things. Ha ha....made me laugh! They really were doing some amazing gymnastics, and I promise it wasn't all the same.

The pictures I took turned out blurry, of course, but you get the idea:

Member night at Science Museum Oklahoma

Being a member sometimes pays off. Last night was one of those times! We were able to go to the museum/aka Omniplex, at night...when they normally close at 5. It was fun to have Josh with us! They gave out free popcorn and cokes the whole evening, and had a "Science Live" mini show--complete with explosions! We got a reduced rate to see the "Shipwreck" pirate exhibit....glad it was cheaper, we didn't really think it was worth the extra money. It was fun, but not $32 fun!
Overall it was a great evening! The kids got to pick out a set of marbles from the store there on our way out--planet marbles...like Mars, Milky Way, and Stardust. They feel pretty cool with their new marbles. Who knew a bag of marbles could make a kid so happy?

Here's my sweet family looking at a photo of a real shipwreck on the bottom of the ocean... it was interactive and they could zoom in on certain parts of the photo and read about what it was, and what it was used for. Pretty neat!

Feeling Hurricane force winds--(category 1)--80 mph!

We got to ride on a segway!! It was SO fun! Josh decided we need one.

We love the science museum!
